Coastal Hiking in the Bay Area

My friend Carlos and I were recently recommended by a work colleague to venture out to the Mount Tamalpais State Park to check out the Dipsea-Steep Ravine-Matt Davis trail loop just northwest of Muir Woods.

Last Saturday we gathered up our people, packed some delicious sandwiches, and hit the road for an epic adventure in the woods of ancient times.

Filled with fog-laden coastal views, Redwood groves and lush green rolling hills, our hike was an adventure we won’t be forgetting anytime soon. The journey started at Stinson Beach just off of the Pacific Ocean and covered about 7 miles and 1500 ft of elevation gain, and lasted about 5 hours with a group lunch break at the Mountain Theatre.

For anyone looking for a top tier trail that is as strenuous as it is beautiful, make sure to visit when you are in the San Francisco Bay Area! I cannot recommended it more highly.
